Kinja'd!!!

I am not losing disk space, but gaining it. I misread the description below the drive name. Dammit, brain.

But at least my purge is doing wonders. I have 146 GB of free space now, and by the time I finally get rid of some more stuff, like Install Setup and some more errant movies, maybe this blasted 2-core Celeron with 2GB of RAM all-in-one PC of mine can get to 175 GB of free space?

I got both AVG and CCleaner Pro, but after their trial periods expire I’ll take them all off (along with some other stuff I’d rather get rid of), and instead do preventive measures.

Dad’s still gonna watch porn on it, though. And that’s the problem.

You should download some more Ram too. That’ll help the speed!

Turn on Software Restriction Policy. Set it to a whitelist so it can only run specific .exe files.

Although SRPs are only available in specific Pro/Ultimate version of Windows, and I have no idea what version you’re running, so this advice could be useless to you.

WinDirStat is my favorite program for seeing what takes up where. Also, using the free trial of Malware Bytes Pro has occasionally done wonders for a computer I’ve been working on.

I am kidding! It was my failed attempt at being funny.

You can’t download Ram, it is a physical thing :)

I have way more free space than I need. Something like 2 or 3 terabytes free space, with about 700gb used.

Look up aprogram called WinDirStat. It gives you a physical representation of all the files on your hard drive so you can see what’s taking up the most space. There’s also a program out there called DupKiller that will find and remove duplicate files for you.

Glary Utilities can sometimes pick up on stuff CCleaner misses.

Old drivers are a huge space hog. When drivers update the computer keeps the old version around “just in case”. Graphics drivers alone can take up a few hundred megabytes each. There are programs that can remove outdated drivers but no names are coming to mind right now.
